Its so weird how events from the book are portrayed in different order in the HBO miniseries "The Pacific" I think its just a classic case of nitpicking a show for its details it gets wrong from its source material.
Like for example Oswald's death, in the show, Sledge see's him get shot, in the book and from his own account he only learnt of his death later, i feel like it would have made for an ominous moment.
