I understand that the heroine felt like she was drowning in pity as The Girl Who Lost a Duke, but that doesn't mean she had to turn into such a fake, hateful creature. It would be great if I could successfully find something to like about her.

I can't seem to figure out why Jack cares so much about fixing Sarah. I haven't seen a reason to explain his mindset yet. Given that I'm missing that huge chunk of foundation, it's hard to be amused by any shenanigans he gets up to in service of breaking her out of her shell. I'm bored right now. :(

The heroine of this book was the jilted fiancé in Follow My Lead, which I loved. How odd to flip things and now be expected to empathize with the heroine's upset over the broken engagement. It feels a little weird since I was so into Winn and Jason.

I know. :( I'm bummed. The last book was awesome, so I expected great things for this one. I don't like the heroine, though. I knew it would be a bit of an adjustment reading about her since she was the jilted woman of the last book--it's odd to hear critical thoughts about a hero and heroine that you loved, especially when you can see that he was in the wrong--but I didn't expect this. Even though I know she's just faking, I still don't like her for it.
I guess I should feel lucky because I haven't read Follow My Lead yet and, maybe, I'll have forgotten everything by the time I get to read this book. ;)
