This story feels like a love letter to a late-in-life queer person. Nainai’s story, while heartbreaking, is also inspirational because it has the wisdom of hindsight: sometimes only by giving up all we have to lose can we have the life of our dreams. It almost makes me want to believe in an afterlife.
