I have a photo on my Instagram from 2020 of the book seller in the London shop that put this in my hands. I thought it was fascinating and he told me that historians for Jack the rep were livid about this book because it changed the narrative… It humanized the women who were killed, the fact that they had real lives and were children of real people and maybe not always the drunken prostitutes they were made out to be.
