Hans is to to The Rill Lord what Marc Frederick is to Sordaneon. Such a perfect diptych even in the titles; Sordaneon the incomprehensible foreign stranger while The Rill Lord the unfathomable demigod. The two anchor both of these entities to the narrative & reader respectively

If for nothing else, I'll always be grateful to L. L. Stephens for creating Marc Frederick. I've never seen a character both haunt and serve as the custodian to a narrative half as much as he's done. Can't be happier that she's writing a prequel novel about him.
