I honestly don’t think I’ve ever hated a manga protagonist more than Maki. “I’m so cute and sweet and wide-eyed and innocent, and I’m going to trample all over your boundaries, and you’re going to let me because if you rightfully call me out it will hurt my fee-fees.” She genuinely makes me nauseous. There are literal murderer characters I haven’t hated this much. Though Haruki is a close second.

So he’s had one girl (woman) who groomed him when he was 15 and she was 18, and now one who’s obsessed with him and won’t take no for an answer. I hate this so much. And I doubly hate that it’s going to be portrayed as pure and honourable and a sign of true love that she won’t take no for an answer. It’s not. It’s toxic.
