This author sees humanity as backward and underdeveloped. He talks down to humans like we are barbarous and our systems are un constituted and stupid. This is what I meant by woke earlier I think. The book had a pretentious vibe to it as well. But I will persist in reading it.

I don’t like this book. It’s too woke and godless. This is coming from a very open minded- relatively woke person.

This book is kinda dry. The characters are also kinda under-characterized. The author spends a long time describing the scene, and random backstories of the places of things in the space, but very very little time on the actual characters. It’s hard to enjoy, but I can follow the plot okay

Last year I started reading this book right off the tail of one of the greatest books in my life, so this book paled in comparison. After a few hundred pages of reading I gave up. But now I’ve gotten back in the habit of reading novels physical books, and I’m trying to enjoy stories from less of an analytical lens. Needless to say I enjoy reading this a lot more now.
