There are a lot of heavy themes in this book. A world where men dominate, and women just have to take whatever it is that goes on with them. But, there are hints of resistance. Will we see what happens with this resistance in the last 20%, or will we have to wait until book 2?

The death of her friend through her uncle's shady practices has driven Maeve into revenge mode. And now this revelation, has it driven her over the edge? Will she become like her mother? All will be revealed...I hope.

What sort of illness does Topley have? Is she so prone to get sick that her parents are this worried? Or do they know something else? Is being sick a death sentence for a young woman in this world? So many questions that I hope get resolved soon.
