What I find interesting in is how many of the Old Testament patriarchs tried to pass off their wives as their sisters out of fear of being killed by their neighbours who coveted their beautiful wives. Also, how many times brothers and sons deceived their siblings and fathers. I didn’t catch this when I was young and being taught this stuff in Sunday School.

Oy vay… Leviticus is going to be a hard book to slog through. Lots of splashing of blood on the altar in the first four chapters.

Finished Exodus today. So weird to find that so much of this book are rules and specifications for how to worship and how to build the structures for worship. I always thought Exodus was about the flight of the Israelites from Egypt but that narrative only takes up about 1/2 the book.
