This started out as such a nice chill fantasy town, and now modernity's got it by the throat. It's all so depressing.
Really, the whole story should come across as a pretty ham-handed way of telling us of things we already know... but it never really occurred to me how bad of a problem it really is, so maybe we needed to be told. Besides, I like the characters and hope they'll be okay.

So she's kind of like the rubber duck the programmers like to complain to. A charming orphan girl to help people calm down and see sense with. I guess whatever works.
