Some of the data seems inaccurate? If 600 million people rely on islands globally, how is that 10% of the world population (global population was 8 billion+ when book was published)?

Sentinel poisoning: kill an animal to attract vultures, eliminate the vultures -> now target animals like elephants whose corpses would also attract vultures.
