Loving this book. In chapter 1 of 4, I learned that Johnny Appleseed is the American Dionysus, the dangers of the over-domestication of apples and how it relates to the Irish Potato Famine, that the ancestors of America’s tastiest apples are in Kazakstan (the apple’s center of diversity), that the potato’s center of density is in the Andes, and that I’d like to visit the Geneva orchard museum.
