Ooh what didn't you like about Godkiller? I didn't really get into it but my friend absolutely loved it

I read it a few years ago, so I don't remember many details, but from what I remember I had an ok time through most of the book — it was just the ending that killed it for me.

(view spoiler)[I really hated that the big reveal at the end completely hinged on a betrayal by a character we hadn't even met on page yet. I was interested in this character (whose name I don't remember) before the ending, but it still seemed so premature to expect his betrayal to hold any emotional weight w the reader? I also remember him seeming cartoonishly evil at the end in a way that felt completely disconnected from anything we had heard about him previously. (hide spoiler)] It just completely undercut the rest of the book for me.
