Chapter 3 is where my attention has been captured. Hopefully we see more of Tyler and his law firm, which sounds banal upon writing, but has definitely become the most interesting part of this book so far

Khaw must be in charge of the world building because that is what is shining the most so far and I have a good opinion of Khaw in that regard

I think Khaw/Kadrey took "Write what you know" in too specific a direction sometimes. Direct references to real world companies/places/bands, etc take me out of it a little bit. The main character was in better form these two chapters, and we got some good action. The book seems to insist upon itself a little too much though at the moment

The good news is the MC mostly realizes how bad of a person she is, so there's hope for development. Too many references to modern day life for my taste, such as battle royale video games, and an incredibly niche band that took me out of it a little bit.

Not the most likeable protagonist off the rip, and I am currently missing Khaw's prose as seen in The Salt Grows Heavy, and a touch too vulgar for my liking so far, but far from writing it off
