Dare I ask what you think of it so far?

It plays a little fast and loose with historical accuracy, maybe more than I was expecting/hoping. I can see what Lindsay was talking about with respect to style—the first person and breaking the fourth wall moments take some getting used to. The first few chapters were more challenging in that regard, plus there were some awkward exposition-y things that we had to get through. It has either calmed down on that front or I’ve gotten used to it or a combination of both. It won’t be my favorite ever but I’m not mad at it either. I think there’s potential for an interesting discussion around how we fictionalize historical figures, particularly when there is a lot that is unknown, and also what it says about us (authors/audience) and our relationship to the past. This is what is coming up for me as I’m reading, anyway.
