The Union soldiers hung a black servant/slave at Cousin Jinnie Blount’s place in Jones County, Georgia for “insubordination “.

The Lincoln administration suspended prisoner exchanges on July 30, 1863. This burdened the South with tens of thousands of men it o properly feed, clothe, or otherwise care for. (And showing Lincoln didn’t really care about the Union soldiers?)

March 1864: The Kilpatrick-Dahlgren Raid, Richmond, VA, was a failed attempt by Union General Judson Kiloatrick and Colonel Ulric Dahlgren to get into Richmond and free Union prisoners there.

Dahlgren was killed, and papers found on his body indicated another purpose of the raid was to burn the city and assassinate JeffersonDavis and his cabinet.
