Not a fan of the spice level.

Against my better judgment, I am continuing to read this book.

I need a cozy fantasy person to help me out: is it against genre conventions to show people claiming to be bad actually doing bad things? Are readers expecting to have the stakes of the story told rather than shown?

This is a book club choice and I’m struggling to shift gears into it coming off of Moment Zero by Brandon Sanderson. Haven’t gotten a grip on the world yet, which is bothering me.
