Wait, she thought, a horrible realization dawning. Is this how my former behaviour appeared to others—critical and superior, without proper consideration given for virtues or accomplishments?

“One may have an opinion,” Georgiana said, casting a long-suffering look at her, which Caroline did not feel she had at all merited, “and yet keep it to one’s self from time to time.”
“Not give my opinion?” Caroline repeated, horrified, as she trailed Georgiana along the hall. “Whyever not?”

You are haughty and frequently uncharitable, and— You do not know when to hold your tongue.” Darcy took a deep breath, then bit his lip. “In short, you reminded me far too much of myself.”

“What is the use of having a library in one’s home if one does not actually stock anything worth reading?”
“I recall that, not so long ago, you could find no fault whatsoever with my brother’s tastes,” Georgiana said, without looking up.
