She dug into her husband’s twenty-year affair, but I honestly don’t know what conclusion she arrived at. She came back empty-handed from the third visit to the island. Maybe that frustrated her too. This book has been draining my soul.

She came back again to the island, but this time she arranged a more luxurious stay and once again happened to run into someone there. And this time, the person turned out to be a murderer… It gave off the vibe of a really cheap novel chapter — just dressed up with slightly more sophisticated wording. Still incredibly tacky, though.

With the second part, I started feeling like, what am I even reading right now? It feels completely empty. Her husband, her daughter, and herself getting dragged from one misery to another, and that whole ‘transformation’... it all started to feel really shallow. At this point, it even feels like the book is just going to abruptly end out of nowhere. We’ll see…
