This is good. I'm sort of hovering around a 3.5-4 at the moment. The premise is interesting; I like the narrator's POV but only thing I dislike is heavy use of metaphor/simile throughout. Sometimes it can be hard to follow; other times, it reads like an A-Level English piece. Overall though, promising. Dolly the bichon frise is a cute addition.
