1. So far this story is realllyyy well written. What seemed like two completely different matters suddenly connect and then you have this eureka moment when you realise everything is related. 2. The You chapters are actually very interesting, and it shows you what goes on in their head. It’s very cryptic, which is what I like. However, they are so creepy and gruesome. 3. Sometimes it’s best to not imagine. I read through the story, I understand what’s happening and get brief flashes of imagination but I never dare to take the time to actually picture all the victims and the gruesome state their bodies were left in. I don’t want nightmares. 4. There’s a love triangle. Normally I absolutely hate love triangles, but in this book, I dislike it, which is better than hate. On the one hand, Michael would seem to be the better choice, but I have this feeling that it’ll be Dean. I’ve read about characters with similar personalities with Michael, and let’s just say, most of them don’t end up with the girl. (So sorry 😅) 5. I don’t know why but right now, my favourite character is Lia. Something about her just draws me in, ya know? Also, she is Asian, has a super cool skill, and her personality?? Yep, that’s the one. 6. Praise to the author because there is no way this book did not need at least days of research.
Final note, I love the way Barnes explains how the Naturals get into the killer’s head. It is _very_ interesting, even _that_ is an understatement. I don’t usually read books in this sort of genre, but I’ll reconsider if all books are as good as this.
