So deep down in book #2 in the trilogy & despite so much allusion to magic stones & weapons & Dragons & magic, there has bored been none of it on display so far. Disappointed!

I've been formulating my issues with character work for the review to come & as if validating everything I put together, Jondralyn is sad about her beauty lost, how she's never slept with someone, has preserved her virginity as a princess and right on cue, Hawkwood shows up to give it to her good. Like...bruh you're losing me

Could it be...that the author is trying to subvert our expectations by brining out a different set of Five Warriors? First the subtle hints with Lindholf & now Lawri.
Doubt that's what it is but then what's with all the hints?

Don't know what Delia did do or didn't do, but I know she didn't deserve what Glade put her through.

Disliked Glade right from the start, but holy crap the guy is an evil mofo!
What he tried to do to Tala, then did it to Delia and what he's done to Lindholf. Pure evil!

2nd fight sequence and Nail literally turns the other way and runs. Given that the situation was such where escaping was important but he is also the MC, you want to root for the guy.

1st fight sequence in this book & Nail was able to kill a grand total of ZERO enemies!
I am not liking how these WARRIORS ANGELS are being setup. Like...Jon & Nail have nothing warrior like...wtf

The aim of all the Bloodwoods is dubious at best. So far we don't know for certain what their end game is and which side of the struggle do they land on.

Honestly don't know what to expect from this book & series. 40% in and no sign of a magic system, which is being hinted at since the start. The secret weapons are still hidden and the MCs are kinda far removed from the stakes.

Oh my God! Nail needs to learn to talk for fuck's sake! This boy be living inside his head way too much and it's just not a good look for an MC.
