you know Scottish country dancing? It's a bit like the steps for that........

Step - Waffle - Waffle - Tangent - Wiggle - Jump - Step - Turn - Waffle - Wiggle - Lunge - Step - Tangent - Waffle - Waffle - Jump

Step being the plot, and the other stuff is everything else. Today's 60 or so pages have been mainly Step though.

Very interesting though, but very stop start.

Well that sounds utterly horrendous 😂 the interesting bits hopefully will get you through. Good luck with it. I might remove it, I’ll await your final verdict and go from there I think! 🤔

Have you read The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins? Wilkie narrates this story, and I think the DS has done an incredible job capturing his manic ramblings. I think you really need to have an interest in Collins & Dickens to get along with this book.

I haven’t, but it’s on my TBR. Ok, thanks for that I may read the woman in white first then 👍🏻

Reading TWIW would definitely add a little background to Drood. I have to say that so far the 2nd half of the book has been excellent. (so far)
