This chapter had a part on the "men's movement". I can tell i dont completely know what encomapsses. The same is true for the critique of said movement.
Hooks also suggests that we should not get rid of masculinity, but transform it. But i dont really see the difference from the new feminist masculity and properties usually assosciated with femininity, so how does it still describe difference between sexes

This chapter on masculinity in media was not my favourite. I do think Hooks generalized masculinity in media. And made her interpretations a bit too explicit and radical. I think the mix of the book being over 20 years old, and me not being used to think in those ways made feel the way ido about this chapter.

Im starting to understand the structure of the book better now. I think the last time i did an update i started the chapter on sexulatiy and i just finished the chapter on work-life. Both chapters made good sense to me.

The chapter i just finished (ch. 4.) has been the chapter i liked the most so far. it had some good passages about how male worth is quantified and a quite speficic way to understand what it means to give and receive love
