Snowman is in love with Oryx. I think he likes how different she is and unbothered by all the tragic events she’s gone through. Snowman has been around people who he feels were “weak”, but oryx is different to him.
And I think he respects Crake for not being afraid but also for being intentional on what he says and does.

Seems that we are mostly seeing the past from Snowman’s perspective. A lot of the content they watch is horrid and shows how desensitized they are. Snowman and Crake also don’t have adult figures guiding them or making an impactful presence.

Snowman doesn’t have a good relationship or memory of his mom. She couldn’t remember her birthday and she’s not mentally present. She used to be a scientist but now she’s just confused and at home. His father tried to prepare Jimmy for life with intellectual gifts and tools, but then he gave up on him.
