This book is annoying the fuck outta me. I don't get why she'd go to her estranged sister's house. I don't get why she would just go to sleep in an unlocked house and not seem overly concerned about her sister, given location of house. She's supposed to be a journalism student, right? But then why isn't she asking questions of the neighbor?
The two POVs sound pretty much the same, too.

I'm having trouble getting into this book. The main character's motivation is not clear to me and both POVs read kind of the same, despite vastly different time periods.
