I'm confused over what Jack knows of Stephanie's story with her past and the Fire versus what we know. I like when an author doesn't leave things to question and the fact Stephanie isn't revealing anything could be frustrating if we didn't know the details but I would have held off in revealing the details and have us the readers find out when Jack found out.

I don't like how the flashback scene are organized. It's regular text so I'm not sure we flashback until I realize I recently read it. Some of the flashbacks are italic, but a lot towards the end are not; the italic worked for me. I do have a pre-final edition so a lot might have changed before the final.

Did Tommy make a full recovery? It was never shared. It seems like it but there was all this worry but no final conclusion.

I didn't like how Stephanie said she need to go back to the crime scene then the next chapter she says to jack that she is happy he is with her yet they are at the courthouse for another hearing. My mind set ready to revisit the crime scene and it didn't happen.

Using the name Jack for the hero and Josh for the villain throws me off sometimes. Otherwise, the book is moving. Still don't like how it's broken up a lot and seems like a lot of filler. Almost like we need to follow every detail as it is planned and unfolds. I find myself reading to just finish the book.

I also want to know how else the novel is going to continue. If it's like this over and over again I can't handle the next 400 pages. I have an advance edition so I'm hoping the final version organized and tighten things up. I just don't know what else could unfold and everything that has unfolded feels disconnected like it's in spurts.

This novel is a bit too sappy for my taste. I love a good triller and romance novel merges together, this is just too much almost unbelievable. Instead of adults in love they sound and act like teenagers.

The opening flap also says - written in marker by Nadler - "To Gina - my friend, my mentor, my family by choice. Thank you!" And Nadler signed it. I'm guessing this is the dedication.

I bought this from an online store under the marketplace with Barnes and Noble. I am almost certain I have an advance or proofreader edition. The layout/format is very plain and condensed - doesn't seem organized. The chapters are headers I miss because they blend into the text; it's like one large transcript. Minor spelling or grammar errors here and there.
