I don't think I have ever read a novel so richly and accurately written about a downcast woman's inner life. I have never been understood by a character more. Again and again and again and again and again through the pages of this story, my heart and soul leap and cry with the words, "Exactly--that is exactly how I feel. Oh, yes, that is exactly how I feel."
