On page 12, the line “I am always learning the same thing: / one day all this will only be memory. / One day soon. For no good reason.”
just struck me like a train. Here I am, two days after my brother’s wedding, and it went by in a blur. It went by as if it was another production, another lab. It went by.
And now it’s only memory. For no good reason. So much is just going by. I don’t want to skip anymore.

There’s a strong case to be made for a Christian interpretation, the first sky being God/the Holy Spirit, fastening one heart to every falling thing being connecting Christ to every fallen man in this fallen world. Freedom is the goal. The work of wings, the work of angels.

I’ve only read the first four poems, because the poem “One Heart” on page 3 took up so much of me when I read it. All at once it struck me but didn’t. It struck me as something beautiful and intriguing, begging to be interpreted, so interpret I did.
