BUT as a mother of a child with mental complexities… I also understood. That moment of being so scared & protective when you’ve been that person’s only anchor, only support, & watched society reject them over & over. Trying to let someone else step in is terrifying because so much of ur life, effort, & constant thought revolves around keeping this person safe.

Niles just outed his mental illness in such a brutal way. I was so mad at him and literally sobbing in the store because he put him in that situation.
