i have a vague memory of a daytime movie called skeezer from the 80s that was riveting and i can't remember any details except for one upsetting scene near the end which i won't repeat but made me cry. it was a really good movie. not sure if this is the book it was based on? this is about a dog that helps emotionally disturbed children. i remembered it as being about something else. we'll see how we go

there was a movie skeezer that i saw on tv in the 80s, this is definitely it. i must have been allowed to watch it because there were kids and a dog in it but this is not a book for children. it reminds me a bit of the bowlby books about attachment/loss/depression but in a simple accessible form. my heart is cold and frozen but the dog being the one who get through to the kids would get anyone in the feels
