Okay. I'm nitpicking, I recognize this. But I'm probably the one weirdo who obsessed over Meiji era nonsense....so a cement wall in a traditional Japanese house that's supposed to be of that era feels weird. Cement came to Japan in 1870, this book takes place in 1877 and from the way the house was described the use of cement just feels so.....off. it's not a western style house. Why didn't you just say plaster? Why?
