I've found that I have a penchant for selecting books 600-800 pages in length... While it allows a thoroughly fleshed out tale, it also slows my 'books in a year' progress, haha.

Nevertheless, this is a solid book so far, well written and cohesive in structure. I am immeasurably happy that it is the first in a long series.
