REALLY not comfortable with the idea that God wants Ransom to kill the physics body of the man possessed by Satan to lure Venus’ Eve into committing Original Sin. BUT. If you HAVE to fight to the death and your Satan possessed opponent has literal CLAWS to rip you apart, fight dirty! Eye gouge, kick him in the junk, throat punch! I guess? Not sure where Lewis is going with this, I gotta say…not liking it.

Oh my word!!! I’m trying SO HARD not to cry right now…I was listening to this at work while doing a mindless task and I am HORRIFIED. Evil has come to Perelandra. Ransom!! For goodness sake, save the Lady from Weston and the Bent One! RUN!! (So much for work. CS Lewis is a MASTER storyteller. I need to just focus on work or I’m going to burst into tears and scare everyone.

Another Eden, with another Snake and Adam and Eve, only this time Ransom is there to try to prevent the fall. Weston…he’s a sad and pathetic character when you realize that he allowed himself to be manipulated by evil and didn’t realize it until it was too late and he didn’t have the wherewithal to ask for help from the right place. It seems so obvious, outside of the situation.

Weston is EVIL. All “it’s for the greater good that someone OTHER than me is to be sacrificed and I will do ANYthing to obtain my goal”. Also, he called classics, history and such education “trash”. He should look in a mirror when he says that! Grrrrrr!!!!
