characterization: Bill one of the main members feels lonely sad about it but also calm and relaxed some times one quote states: "I'm so lonely I wouldn't think Beverly would notice me the only people who do is the bullies." Bill is an overweight kid so he is kind of down but what he does is he sits in the library and reads either about the past of Derry or other things. he thinks he can catch a break in the summer.

Connections Text to Text: I think IT reminds me of the book Three Billy Goats Gruff. One reason is that there's a monster under the bridge the goats have to get past and in IT the gang has to defeat or do something in order to pass to wherever they want to. The monster in Three Billy Goats Gruff resembles a monster under a world of ordinary just like IT. IT is the monster living in the sewers under people/ordinary.

Conflict: I think the conflict in IT Is character vs self. the conflict is many things but One way you can think it is this is because the author is putting us in the pov's of the main characters and they are kind of deciding what adventure to go on in their personal lives, they are working on themselves/deciding. The members also must regain their childhood innocence, strength, and memories to battle IT as adults.

Setting: Mike Hanlon was proving to himself that something has been disturbing Derry for a long time. after that he had a flashback to 1957-58 and he was talking with this man who had his daughter go missing the same days that were a killing spree of people which started with Georgie Denbrough. The man reported hearing voices in the bathroom drains and his wife soon went missing after and he died later in his home.

Visualize: One scene in my book was so well written that I could picture what they were doing in my head. "I promise!.. He put an arm around her and led her to the couch. Brought her a glass. She slipped at it, getting herself under control." She and Bill then talked about him moving back to Derry to meet up with his old friend Mike Hanlon, who said IT might have returned and that he needs to talk.

Overcoming the monster: The main characters eventually gather up after seeing kind of, the same thing. A monster that can shapeshift into family members and more creepy things, like there own fears. Then they are all thinking to stop this thing, they call IT.
