SUMMARY: Macy, the main character, reads a letter from Jason about their relationship. After that, she realizes she must change or all of her progress with her friends will be lost. "If I didn't take action, somehow, by the fall everything that had happened with Wish, and with Wes, would be smoothed over, forgotten, no more than a dream" (Dessen 310).

VISUALIZE: When Macy and Wes are playing a game called Truth, Macy is asked about her grossest experience. She replies with a detailed story about a girl vomiting on her. "... she pukes all over me, And then, as I'm standing there dripping, she does it again" (Dessen 227). This part helped me visualize the moment when she threw up twice on her, almost that I can smell it.

WEEK OF 4/17=
AUDIENCE AND PURPOSE: Macy's life is mostly dedicated to young women and coming of age. It is written to relate to teen girls, with their lives being full of surprises and drama. "When I'd first started playing truth, back in my slumber party days, it had always made me nervous" ( Dessen 225). This shows the emotions a teen girl goes through and how growing up makes memories.
