5 TYPES OF CONFLICT: Patina has a character vs. self conflict. "Like I said- the opposite of peace... but there were definitely cannons going off in my brain" (Reynolds 153). This explains her personal struggles with her own mind, like this time when she just found out her friends were involved in a car accident. This is important to the story because the entire book is her perspective on everything.
