Given it's a collection of DFW writing, I had gone into this already believing I'd be going through some of the clever-est stories out there. I'd also been primed by having read some mixed reviews a while ago, some claiming that the collection is written without humanity or accessibility.

Not only is there humanity in this collection in spades, but somewhere around double the revelatory moments I'd expected.
