In listening to this I can’t help think how topical it is. Re The Odyssey movie, Helen, if she was real, was probably brown skinned, but as part of the elite would have been seen in public as white by the application of a mixture of chalk and lead. We can be sure about her natural skin color bc all young Spartan women were required to exercise outdoors so they would produce strong babies.
