And of course, exactly what was expected happened — the husband who needs a maid at home showed up. He’s really not a pleasant man. He’s pretty much the ideal type to control someone like Britt-Marie.

Thank goodness the house she rented has a balcony. Maybe she can finally find a little peace. For someone this obsessive, so much change must be utterly exhausting. And honestly, how can anyone survive without sleeping for that long…

The policeman have now become part of Britt-Marie’s life as well. There are various hints throughout the text, along with some pretty obvious truths. It’s moving a bit too slowly for my taste.

It seems like, thanks to a handful of kids, Britt-Marie is finally going to get the therapy she never realized she needed.

Borg isn’t exactly a wonderful place, sure. But the woman’s obsessively neurotic behavior and obvious need for therapy are really irritating. This character genuinely made me uncomfortable.

Her husband left her for another woman. She was forced to find a job. She started working in Borg, and the very moment she arrived, her car got wrecked and she was knocked unconscious by a ball hitting her in the head. Poor thing.

It started in an intriguingly unusual way. A lovely quote about the author’s mother, and the obsessively meticulous Britt-Marie. I’m still not quite sure what to make of it all, but she has no ring, no home, and she’s looking for a job. She’s long been disconnected from the real world, yet now she’s trying to find her way back into it.
