Just okay so far, I see the Hunger Games comparison (stratified society, brutal trials, rebellion), and it's fair. Pierce Brown gives you plot. Fast, lean, efficient plot. I like prose that breathes, dust in the throat, cold you can feel. Red Rising skims where I want to sink my fingers in. The bones are good. The verdict so far: middling. Not giving up, not raving yet.
