Resentment settles over each of us like dust. Ryan won’t let the gallery die and I wont let our parenthood live. He mourns the children we won’t have and I mourn the one we did. We say little about any of it 😭😭

much of marriage is some permutation of mismatched desires, like a three-legged race. and desires become indistinguishable……….. but if perfect understanding of our own motives were a prerequisite for action, the world would be motionless.
