This book reminds me of a Puritan version of Gentle and Lowly. Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones said of Richard Sibbes that he was a balm to his soul. Being postpartum and reading this book slowly, I too can say that this has been a “balm to my soul” (even if it takes me a while to read it).
