ryan reading indy’s mafia romance book feels so performative for the booktok girls and it just reminds me of that one tiktok with the girl who’s saying stuff like imagine that there are real mafia men reading our books and saying write that down 😭

something that really pisses me off with these two are that they don’t communicate enough that they always overthink or misunderstand ugh!! they think other people can read their minds…. Like indy saying i’m worried ryan hasn’t talked to me WELL NO SHIT!! you didn’t explain anything and were all reclusive after talking with your ex, it’s gonna make him think things

“Rough but thoughtful. Hurried but enjoyed.”
this author really loves juxtapositions. humble confidence, insecure but confident, bold yet shy

at the scene where usually emotionless ryan gets riled up by his opponent for slamming into indy, which is honestly super cool of him, but the opponent saying “finally found a weakness” makes me just think about how sometimes the book makes clichés i absolutely know booktok will fall for and that it’s exactly what it’s there for

is it a thing with romance novels with smut to be so sexual all the time? before they are attracted to the person for their personality, they will always be sexually attracted to them and i see this very reoccurring pattern even in the previous book. i guess it’s a good turning point to have things escalate into something more romantic and to have that “can’t get them out of my mind” moment.
