What an interesting read so far. I think this is my first translated book. Lately, I've been doing this thing (not on purpose) where I disregard commas and dashes and read everything as one big run-on sentence. That has proven detrimental with this book as the punctuation is the primary vehicle for D-503's mental state. I read because it helps me take life slower, this book seems to be helping with that.

Seeing as this book was translated I think I'm running into some pacing and tone issues. It's definitely gotten easier to read as I move on. Margaret Atwood basically spoiled the entire book in the introduction so if you're gonna read it I recommend skipping the parts where she talks about what goes on in the book. The rest of her intro is wholly interesting and gives good historical context. I'm excited to keep goin
