How dis this novella manage to take a genuinely intriguing setting (a haunted Japanese mansion in the middle of the woods), a fantastic concept for a haunting (a bride buried alive hundreds of years ago, and countless young girls buried in the wall as a sacrifice to her) and turn it into juvenile drama about who has slept with who, and the childish drama of a friend group that has absolutely no business being friends
