Wow, I think this a first for me... not liking the mmc. I don't know why, but I just find him kind of annoying and I also can't quite pinpoint his true intentions which makes me not trust him. Hopefully I'll start to like him later on.

But when Maverick said in his mind, "good girl" I wanted to whack him! Like, WHAT THE FRICK, DUDE!!! I mean I get you're glad she's smart enough to not trust you, but are you freaking serious right now?!
I seriously hate it when men say that (in books and irl)! It makes me automatically think of dark romance books, and it's just so gross.
