Amy Siemel Does this mean you will add a new member to your household? 😃

Amy McHose Hi, Friend - I should share a bit of backstory… I started this book ages ago with the intention of getting a dog again after many years without. My favorite breed is Golden Retriever - of which I had had 6 over the years. Long story, short - a local breeder decided to retire one of his Mama dogs around September 2024 and posted it on Facebook. After much hesitation (I wanted to wait until I was retired!) and encouragement from my kids (Mom, just talk to the guy, this dog is exactly what you want, why wait 9 months until you’re retired?), I took the plunge and was fortunate to be the recipient of the Mama dog aka Goldie. It took some finagling, some patience (Goldie didn’t know how to “be” a dog) and love, but Goldie evolved into the BEST girl. So, the book went on the back burner. Goldie loved me, I loved Goldie. Sadly, however, in late March/early April, Goldie became ill and after 2 weeks of vet visits, ultrasounds, medications, and no real concrete answers, I finally made the hard choice to relieve her suffering. I miss her so much and a part of me wants another Golden. 18 months wasn’t enough time! So, my goal is to finish this book! And to keep an eye on the Golden Retriever Rescue sites. Maybe, just maybe, I will take the plunge again. ❤️
