Didn't like this as well as I'd hoped.

Interesting ideas here, but the book is weak on characterization and personal drama. At the halfway point I'm lukewarm about this. The hopping around between timelines and POV is sometimes awkward, especially since this crappy mass market paperback I'm reading occasionally omits a crucial paragraph break.
