Because of its relevance to a video I'm working on, I skipped ahead to the second story in the book, called "I Have A Special Plan For This World" and, while I'm not done with it yet, it has to already be one of the funnier stories I've read. Ligotti, at his best, reads like a modern Kafka. The business in this story remind me almost directly of the hazy, smoky office in The Trial.
